International Data Transfers
How cross-border data transfers are managed and safeguarded.
Plain-language summary
This notice explains when personal information may be transferred outside South Africa, where providers are located, and the safeguards applied under POPIA section 72.
1. When transfers occur
MK Assist and its subprocessors may process information in South Africa and in other countries where cloud infrastructure, messaging, email, analytics or support tools are hosted.
2. POPIA section 72 basis
Cross-border transfers are made only where permitted under POPIA, including where the recipient is subject to adequate protection, binding corporate rules, standard contractual clauses, consent where required, or another lawful basis documented in the Data Processing Agreement.
3. Safeguards
MK Assist uses contractual protections, access controls, encryption in transit, vendor review and incident procedures appropriate to the nature of the processing. The current subprocessor list is published separately.
