Plain-language summary

Defines permitted use, manual-review sectors, prohibited sectors and prohibited conduct.

1. Purpose

This policy protects customers, clients, MK Assist, Meta and the integrity of the WhatsApp Business Platform. It applies to every client, administrator, agent, integration and person acting through an account. A breach may result in content removal, feature restriction, suspension or termination.

2. General prohibited use

You must not use MK Assist to:

  • break law, court order, licence condition, industry code, Meta or WhatsApp terms;
  • impersonate, deceive, defraud, mislead, harass, discriminate, threaten or exploit;
  • send spam or business-initiated messages without the required opt-in and approved template;
  • request or store OTPs, passwords, complete payment-card details, banking credentials or unnecessary identity documents;
  • upload content without authority or infringe copyright, trade marks, confidentiality, privacy or personality rights;
  • introduce malware, probe security, bypass limits, share credentials or access another workspace;
  • build profiles from WhatsApp data beyond what is reasonably necessary for the customer conversation;
  • use WhatsApp data, including derived or aggregate data, to train or improve a shared AI model;
  • make or substantially determine a legal, medical, credit, insurance, employment, education, housing or other high-impact decision without approved lawful human oversight;
  • operate MK Assist as a general-purpose assistant or expose underlying model services as the primary product sold through WhatsApp;
  • generate prohibited content or instruct wrongdoing.

3. Normally accepted sectors

Ordinary retail, hospitality, tourism, property services, professional services, automotive services, logistics, trades, home services, general e-commerce and ordinary customer-support businesses may generally proceed, subject to identity, acceptable-use and Meta checks.

4. Manual compliance review

Healthcare, financial services, insurance, legal services, education involving children, recruitment, government entities, highly regulated industries, substantial special-personal-information processing and requested automated legal, medical, financial or eligibility decisions require written approval before activation. Review may require licences, notices, data-flow details, safeguards, restricted prompts, human-review controls and counsel advice.

5. Prohibited businesses and uses

MK Assist will not activate political parties, political candidates or campaigns; election campaigning; gambling; adult services; dating; payday lending; debt collection; tobacco sales; alcohol sales; controlled drugs; prohibited regulated medical-product sales; firearms and weapons; illegal or deceptive services; prohibited multi-level marketing; or any use that could materially jeopardise the MK Assist Meta application.

A business is not entitled to activation merely because its activity is lawful in another channel. MK Assist may apply stricter risk rules than the minimum required by law or Meta where necessary to protect customers, the service or platform access.

6. Sensitive information

Where a use case reasonably involves personal information, the client must minimise fields, provide a privacy notice, configure retention and handover, and avoid unnecessary special information. Supported detection and masking is a safety control, not permission to request restricted information.

7. Enforcement

MK Assist may investigate based on account information, customer complaints, content, system signals or Meta notices. It may require evidence, restrict a feature, pause automated responses, suspend the workspace, disconnect assets or terminate. Immediate action is allowed where risk is urgent. Where appropriate, MK Assist gives reasons and a cure route, but it may withhold details that would undermine security, legal obligations or platform enforcement.

8. Reporting

Report suspected abuse to hello@mkassist.co.za. Include the business name, number, date and a concise description. Do not send unnecessary sensitive material.
